3.1 Preview – Not Even a New Icon?
I know this is a few days late, but I just wanted to point out that Mage was again the “Class Most Likely to be Shit Upon” in the first round of previews for the upcoming 3.1 content patch. Each class got a few interesting little morsels to chew – a few new things to look forward to in 3.1 be they ability changes or talent swaps or whatever. Mages, however, got this:
Improved Water Elemental – this talent has been removed and replaced with a new talent that grants Replenishment (similar to Shadow priests).
We are also working on a way to give frost mages Ice Lance “Shatter combos” in PvE.
We are also working on more survivability for Fire spec in PvP.
We are also working on making Spirit a more useful and interesting stat for all mages.
Later, Ghostcrawler was quoted in saying “Hey guys we came up with some cool stuff for everybody else, but we’re just can’t figure out what to do with you yet. We’re kinda hoping you’ll just get distracted by your flashy spell effects. If not, we’ll probably just make all of your talents scale with Spirit so you have to gem for it. Cuz why not. Eat shit, bitches!”
Gee… I think I missed that quote from Ghostcrawler. I’ll have to look harder for it. lol.

Spirit better do something soon so we don’t get continually shit on for bidding on anything without hit rating on it, reguardless of upgrade value.
Cheers.

Double post, but if your guild is shitting on you for trying to bid on stuff without hit on it, that’s pretty lame.
My guild will try and reserve high regen stuff for our healers; but always say that if anyone disagrees, go ahead and send a tell so we can see your point of view as well (before the item is distributed).
I still kinda wish they’d never gone through with this spellpower change, but oh God some of the Paladin itemisation is shit.

I was being cheeky more then sincere.
It doesn’t happen as much now that everyone geared up,
but in the beginning it was a headache.

When I first read the patch notes preview everything that they said they were going to add was prefaced with the word “we are working on” as oppose to the other class, which was you get this and this.
Only thing that was certain was what they will remove. Improved water element.
Eveything else sounds unpromising, though unconfirmed. What good is polymorph Rabbit and a replenishment in the frost tree, when other trees *cough* arcane, need it more?

that ghostcrawler post was hilarious, although I know it was made it up it was still amazing.
i honestly don’t understand why the hell they are working on a mana regen talent for frost mages….who the hell raids as frost anyway?
Does blizzard even pay attention to what the mage class is suppose to be. No one would ever bring a frostmage to a raid just because they have mana regen, but also do 30% less damage then frostfire, arcane mages. Great work blizzard really looking forward to the mana regen that I will never use….instead of paying your employees to work out a retarted new talent you could just pay them to pound their meat while on the clock. idiots

Bahahahahahahaha.
My boyfriend and I just had a huge freaking laugh over that ghostcrawler quote.
Seriously though… the PTR changes for mages are really underwhelming.
=(
Awesome website by the way. I’m gonna add you my blogroll, if that’s alright. =D
